The Northern Finland Economic Development Centre has granted a business development grant to Kupukan Grafiitti Oy on 3 February 2026:

ERDF Project – Domestic graphite as a raw material for reducing carbon emissions

EU funding 118 715 €

The project has four development work packages:
1) Comprehensive beneficiation and quality tests
2) Geophysical measurements and interpretations
3) Stakeholder activities to maintain and develop the social license
4) Independent evaluation of the mining project.
